In this six-part series, we see how China's performers are finding new ways of synthesising China's artistic heritage with fresh global influences. In this final episode, presenters Jeff Crosby and Li Tong meet the stars of China's classical music and ballet worlds. Following in the footsteps of Chinese classical super stars Lang Lang and Yuja Wang is Niu Niu, a young piano soloist now seemingly destined for an international career. Li Tong joins the astonishing young virtuoso as he makes a return to his former music college in Shanghai. Jeff meets the world-renowned conductor, Yu Long, as he rehearses with the internationally acclaimed Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, and he also visits a new generation of dancers and choreographers being put through their paces at China's premier dance company, the National Ballet of China. Finally Jeff meets the renowned composer, Guo Wenjing, who has successfully blended Chinese and western elements to create his own unmistakable style of opera. Show less
