Another chance to enjoy the Pet Shop Boys, first broadcast as a Christmas special - but they don't do Christmas like anyone else; their 1987 Christmas chart-topper “Always on my Mind” was the most unlikely festive hit, and so their Radio 2 takeover will continue in that same vein as they keep the party going just as the Christmas tunes are put into storage for another year.

Expect no Christmas songs but do expect a playlist like no other. There will be disco hits, synth-pop gems, dance bangers, the odd showtune and a few of Chris’ personal Northern Soul favourites.
