Orcas that come out of the water, birds that dive to depths of over 20m - some animals don't hesitate to enter unfamiliar environments. In Argentina, in the bay off Puerto Madryn, Jorge Cazenave explains the orca beaching technique. Thanks to aerial images, we discover how the whales in a pod teach this technique to the young who don't yet hunt.

In Lambert’s bay in South Africa, marine biologist Lorien Picehegru studies the hunting techniques used by the Cape gannet, which can dive as far down as 20m into the water to reach shoals of sardine. We learn this hunting method is the result of inter-species co-operation between birds and dolphins.

Madaidhean-cuain a bhios a' tighinn às a' mhuir, eòin a bhios a' dàibheadh sìos còrr air fichead meatair... Chan eil leisg air cuid de chreutairean a dhol a dh'àrainneachdan coimheach.

Ann an Argentina, ann am bàgh faisg air Puerto Madryn, mìnichidh Jorge Cazenave an dòigh anns am bi madaidhean-cuain a' tighinn air tìr. A' coimhead ri ìomhaighean a chlàraich e bhon adhar, chì sinn mar a bhios na mucan-mara ag ionnsachadh an cleas seo dha na laoigh nach bi a' sealg fhathast.

Ann am Bagh Lambert ann an Afraga a Deas, tha am bith-eòlaiche mara Lorien Picehegru a' rannsachadh dòighean creachaidh sùlairean a' Chip, a bhios a' dàibheadh sìos cho fada ri 20 meatair dhan mhuir airson sgaothan shàrdain a ruighinn. Chì sinn cuideachd gur ann tro cho-obrachadh eadar na h-eòin agus leumadairean a chaidh an dòigh creachaidh seo a leasachadh.
