On the remote and wind-blown Fair Isle, Jimmy Perez attends his mother’s funeral. At the wake, it’s clear that his father, James, is having trouble with his memory, but it’s then that Tosh calls to inform him that Alex Galbraith has been shot dead on his doorstep in broad daylight.
