Trad music show presented by Julie Fowlis. Ceòl aig Baile brings old and new musical friends together to create music and perform intimate concerts at venues in hot-spot areas for traditional music around Scotland.
Filmed at Film City in Govan, this programme features music collaborations by some of the best traditional musicians with connections to the city of Glasgow, including a selection of songs from Findlay Napier and Heidi Talbot. Gaelic singers Kim Carnie and Ellen MacDonald perform together for the first time with accompaniment from Brian McAlpine and Fiona MacAskill and Mohsen Amini, Calum Stewart, Jenn Butterworth, Chris Stout and Catriona McKay play some lively music. From Somerset, renowned musicians Cara Dillon and Sam Lakeman perform a mixture of self-penned and traditional folk songs.
