We’re back on patrol with three North Wales Traffic Police mobile teams.
PC Dennis Babb, ex-Met, thinks he’s seen it all but hasn’t. He now faces his biggest challenge: spending all day in a car with PC Lee Cushion, a man so naïve he’s never thrown a snowball or made an arrest. Sgt Vincent Price, the ‘before’ picture in an Anger Management advert, shares a car with PC Gavin Howells, very much the ‘after’. PC Wendy Williams, the Scouse Cagney, and PC Grace Bevan, the South Walian Lacey, are best mates who do some light traffic policing on the side. And Sian, the radio despatch op, is engaged to PC Howells and keen on signs saying things like ‘sorry coffee, this is a job for prosecco’.
The mountains, the coast, the villages and towns of north Wales make the landscape a character in itself, helping shape the stories. The series has North Wales running through it like Llandudno through a stick of rock.
This week, there’s a baby coming and everyone wants to help. Well, nearly everyone. And Lee has a pair of clogs.
