Dom goes to work at the Port of Tyne, finding out what it takes to keep essential items moving in and out of the British Isles. Every year, six million containers from all over the world land at our ports, carrying goods that are vital to keeping the country running, making sure our supermarket shelves stay stocked and factory production lines remain productive. Dom’s mentor is head of operations Graeme Hardie, who has been working at the port for 25 years and before that served in the army. Dom shifts containers from the quayside to the container park, helps unload their precious cargoes and finds out how their contents are transported on to our shops and businesses. Can he pull his weight alongside the men and women who work 24 hours a day to keep our imports and exports moving? Show less
