In the age of coronavirus, inspirational speakers are still trying to get their ideas across. It’s just that they’re doing it online, not in person. They continue to give talks about their work, their passions and the state of the world. Catrin Nye is back with a new series, bringing us some of the best talks with a Welsh connection, and interviewing the speakers in-depth about their big idea. It’s food for the mind and inspiration for the soul.
This week idea is Good Tech, Bad Tech. We hear from three speakers who want us to think about technology: what we do with it and what it does to us.
Catrin hears from Steve Evans, a manufacturing engineer from Merthyr Tydfil, who wants fast fashion to slow down to help stop climate change; from Francesca Sobane who tells us why black women are finding social media increasingly distressing; and from science writer Ainissa Ramirez, we hear the story of the woman who, literally, sold time in 19th century London.
