Tha a’ chompanaidh a tha a’ ruith seirbheis iùil Phort Adhair na Gàidhealtachd ‘s nan Eilean, HIAL, airson an t-seirbheis aig còig de na puirt adhair as trainge aca a tharraing gu aon làrach ann an Inbhir Nis agus na tùraichean aca obrachadh aig astar. Tha HIAL cuideachd airson an t-seirbheis iùil aig Beinn a’ Bhaoghla agus Inbhir Ùige a lùghdachadh gu seirbheis fiosrachaidh. Tha seo a dhìth, tha iad ag ràdh, airson gum bi an t-seirbheis aig ìre san àm ri teachd. Ach mar a tha Angela Nic’Illeathain ag aithris, tha mòran gu tur an aghaidh a’ phròiseict ‘s dragh orra mu obraichean ionadail gan call, seasmhachd an uidheamachd ùir agus sàbhailteachd.

Cuideachd sa phrògram bidh Angela a’ bruidhinn ri Donalda NicComb a bha bliadhnachan aig cridhe foghlam tro mheadhan na Gàidhlig ann an Glaschu. Tha Donalda a’ coimhead air ais a h-obair ‘s i na ceannard air a’ chiad bhun-sgoil agus a’ chiad àrd-sgoil Ghàidhlig ann an Alba.

HIAL, the company that runs air traffic control at Highlands and Islands Airports, wants to remove the service from their five busiest airports: Stornoway, Kirkwall, Sumburgh, Dundee and Inverness, and centralise it at one location in Inverness using remote tower technology. They also want to downgrade the air traffic service at Benbecula and Wick airports to Flight Information Service. HIAL say this is necessary to future-proof their operations, but, as Angela MacLean reports, the project has its critics. There are concerns about the loss of local jobs, resilience of the new technology, and safety.

Also in the programme, Angela talks to Donalda McComb, who has been at the heart of Gaelic medium education in Glasgow for many years. Donalda reflects on her experiences as the head teacher of the first Gaelic medium primary school and the first Gaelic medium secondary school in Scotland.
