It was Tiger Woods who tamed the Augusta National course last year as he claimed his fifth Masters and 15th major title to seal one of the greatest comeback stories in sport after overcoming career-threatening back surgery just two years previously.

Woods shot a two-under round of 70 to emerge from a tightly packed leaderboard to win his first major title in 11 years and claim his first green jacket since 2005. Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka and Xander Schauffele all finished a shot adrift of Woods.
