Book recommendations, childhood memories and some specially commissioned musical arrangements for Book Week NI in 2020. Emma Vardy presents a light-hearted celebration of books and reading in association with Libraries NI, with contributions from celebrity guests and a book-themed medley performed by members of the Ulster Orchestra in Belfast Central Library.

Those taking part include the Chief Constable, Suzie Lee, Connor Phillips, Marie-Louise Connolly, Paddy Raff, the Children’s Commissioner, Jan Carson, the interim Mental Health Champion, the BBC’s Director-General and Joel M.

We hear about how books can provide comfort, inspiration and escape, helping us to understand ourselves and each other and to make the autumn evenings brighter.
