London Marathon

2020

Part 2

Duration: 2 hours, 59 minutes

First broadcast: on BBC One HDLatest broadcast: on BBC One Northern Ireland HD

Gabby Logan presents live coverage of the 40th staging of the world-famous London Marathon.

This year, elite athletes only are able to compete due to the coronavirus pandemic, but 45,000 runners will be taking part in their own unique way as part of the ‘virtual’ race.

British four-time Olympic champion Sir Mo Farah is the pacemaker for this year’s men’s race, which also includes world record holder and defending champion Eliud Kipchoge as well long-distance great Kenenisa Bekele. The men’s race, which could see a new world record, will take place in a bio-secure closed course that will consist of 1.5 mile laps, taking in the iconic sights of The Mall, Horse Guards Parade and Buckingham Palace.

We also meet many inspiring people who tell us their compelling stories of why they are running the virtual marathon in their own way for their own special reason. Show less
