Panorama

Exposing the Illegal Organ Trade

Duration: 29 minutes

First broadcast: on BBC News Asia PacificLatest broadcast: on BBC News North America

Panorama investigates one of the world’s most brutal trades - the buying and selling of human organs. The programme meets the African migrants who have been exploited for their body parts by criminal gangs. Some have agreed to sell a kidney to finance their journey to Europe, only to be ripped off by the traffickers after the operation. Other victims have their organs taken without consent. Panorama also tracks down the criminals running the trade to find out how they arrange illegal operations in hospitals and clinics. Show less
