Continued live Challenge Cup coverage with the second game of a sixth-round double-header, played on neutral territory, as Catalans take on Wakefield.
Catalans famously won a maiden Challenge Cup in 2018 – under the stewardship of ex-England coach Steve McNamara – to become the first non-British side in the history of the competition to lift the trophy. McNamara’s current side includes the likes of Sam and Joel Tomkins, Michael McIlorum and Lewis Tierney and is a force to be reckoned with. Tony Gigot – the Lance Todd trophy winner from the Dragons’ Challenge Cup success two years ago – left to join opponents Wakefield only last month and is keen to get one over his ex-teammates. Trinity have not won the Challenge Cup since 1963 but are building an impressive squad under coach Chris Chester, who guided Hull KR to the final in 2015.
