Kate Humble and Ben Fogle are back for another sunny summer series following the lives of the exotic animals at Longleat Safari Park. In today’s programme, the unthinkable happens - the park must close its doors for one of the longest periods since it first opened in 1966. As the coronavirus pandemic causes a national lockdown, the keepers work hard to protect their precious animals from infection and keep them fed and entertained.
As restrictions ease, Kate has an emotional reunion with the tiger cubs and marvels at just how much they have grown. Preston the overweight armadillo managed to shed the pounds and get the girl, but Kate learns why he must be kept away from his gorgeous new babies. Prince the pygmy goat keeps escaping, so Jean Johansson joins a keeper to find out why. Ben does his bit to ensure the Californian sea lions don’t get bored, or hungry, without visitors in the park.
