Would-be wedding planner Onkar Singh Purewal is a shopkeeper by day but by night an events manager extraordinaire. He dreams of expanding the family business beyond the Rhondda and making it big. but right now its his dad Dev who is still running the show and he's not yet ready to hand over the reins to his son.

Locals give a mixed reception to a Valentine's day promotion at the family corner shop and Onkar's latest wedding booking faces disaster. In a rain-soaked Caerphilly Castle, the happy couple Dave and Lowri are blissfully unaware of the chaos as the catering team turns up without cooking oil, set the freezer to fridge setting and destroy the dessert. Onkar rises to the challenge, but as he bickers with his father, it's a day to forget for the Purewal family. To make up for it Onkar decides to throw a lavish Vaisakhi party at the family hotel to celebrate the Punjabi New Year and hopefully drum up some new customers. Show less
