While recording a song for a competition, Holly and Oscar keep getting distracted by Heather. After Holly kicks Heather out, Dad interrupts and Oscar gets the boot! Frustrated, Holly demands to know why she can’t have a boy in her room and discovers that it’s because she’s a girl!

Meanwhile, Amy experiences her own injustice when Reggie, a classmate with a mediocre science project, gets chosen over her to attend the Regional State Science Fair. When she talks it out with her friends and Grandma Hobbie, she gets the inspiration to organize an all-girl protest. The protest is a success with Amy getting what she deserves, and as a surprise move from Dad, Holly gets to have Oscar in her room. All is well until Holly realizes that she has a crush on Oscar!
