Newly qualified midwife Katie who is struggling with one of the most important parts of a midwife’s role – performing an internal sweep to help bring on labour in overdue expectant mothers. A key procedure in a midwife’s tool belt, the stress of not being able to master it is weighing heavy on Katie and making her rethink her career choice. However, mentor Taz however believes she has a plan that will help Katie master the sweep and stay in the NHS - but Katie isn’t sure whether to laugh or cry.

Angel is a Philippine nurse in her first days on the job, nervous around patients and the unfamiliar technology she has encountered. She feels thrown in at the deep end and a long way from home. Mentor Beverley checks in on her to make sure she’s getting the support she needs, but will Angel ever gain the confidence needed to work the wards on her own? Show less
