Eurovision Kings and Queens of Pop

Duration: 1 hour, 57 minutes

First broadcast: on BBC Radio 2Latest broadcast: on BBC Radio 2

Rylan Clark-Neal presents an extravaganza of Eurovision winners past, much-loved runners up, and the biggest bangers and ballads that would have been a part of this year’s event in Rotterdam.

Packed with nostalgic tracks this BBC Sounds mix features Eurovision favourites Abba, Sandie Shaw, Bucks Fizz, Loreen, Mans Zelmerlow, Netta, Alexander Rybk, Celine Dion, Gina G, Dana International, Katrina and The Waves, Conchita Wurst and last year’s winner Duncan Laurence who triumphed for the Netherlands with his song ‘Arcade’. Plus joyous hand-picked archive clips from the BBC vaults.

It’s the first time the song contest hasn’t been held since its debut in 1956 and this years’ acts are eligible to enter next year but with different songs. Rylan’s pick of 2020 includes Victoria (Bulgaria’s answer to Billie Eilish), fan favourite Daði og Gagnamagnið (representing Iceland) whose song ‘Think About Things’ has gone viral with over 6 million views on YouTube, and the United Kingdom's entry 'My Last Breath' co-written and performed by multi-platinum selling, Brit Award-winning singer James Newman.
