YolanDa Brown and her house band, The Band Jaminals, entertain an audience of children - the Band Jammers - with live music and special guests!
YolanDa gets everyone moving with the song Jumping on Our Toes, which uses short, sharp staccato notes. YolanDa encourages the Band Jammers to jump on their toes and make fun robot movements to the music.
Joining YolanDa in this episode is double bass performer Chi-chi Nwanoku. The double bass is one of the biggest instruments, and Chi-chi demonstrates how the double bass can come to life and make sounds like a person or an animal. YolanDa and the Band Jammers try and guess the animal sounds Chi-chi makes with the double bass.
The Fact Jam then further explores the double bass and an instrument that’s even bigger – the octobass, which is so large it needs several people to play it!
Chi-chi then performs The Elephant on the double bass, before being invited by YolanDa and the Band Jammers to take part in the Big Band Jam at the end of the programme.
Next, there's a short film which follows YolanDa and Band Jammers Agnes and Aaron as they learn how to tap dance to a jazzy nursery rhyme.
YolanDa and the Band Jaminals perform with Chi-chi for the Big Band Jam, and they get everyone moving with an energetic performance of Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes. Show less
