The girls’ team of sprinter Alesha, boxer Jocelyn and showjumper and runner Neisha are in Mongolia - the land of the horse - to learn the sporting skills of the Mongolia nomads: archery, lassoing and horse riding. At the end of the week, they will compete against the locals in an epic race that involves all three disciplines.
Led by presenter Camille Ucan, the girls are treated to an awe-inspiring introduction to all three skills, performed by their head coach - local horse training legend Geser.
Geser then introduces them to their hosts for the week, a nomadic family living in the remote plains of Mongolia. Here, they look around their new home – they’ll be sleeping in a tent called a ger and using a hole in the ground as a toilet. They are then matched with the semi-wild horses they will be riding all week, before going for their first ride. Finally, they experience a traditional welcome meal of the nomads – sheep’s head!
The girls have their intense training sessions in horse riding throughout the week. They get involved in a game of tug of war, and Camille tries to make herself useful by helping milk the family’s livestock... in this case, horses! Geser then trains them in the other key skills they need to master: archery and lassoing - with mixed results.
The week finishes with the girls putting everything they have learned across the week into practice, as they compete in an epic relay race involving all three skills against local nomad children.
Dressed in traditional Mongolian clothing, and cheered on by presenter Camille Ucan, can they beat the locals at their own games? Show less
