Divya Arya is an award-winning journalist with the BBC reporting for its television, radio and web platforms in English and Hindi. She has reported on the Indian elections, education, religion and caste divides and gender discrimination. Now as the BBC's Women's Affairs Journalist in India she also writes a weekly blog on gender issues. Born and brought up in Delhi, Divya did her Bachelors in commerce in the premier institute for Business Studies - Sri Ram College of Commerce at the University of Delhi. Divya is trained in the classical Indian dance, Bharatnatyam and takes refuge in music and dance when trying to seek the ever elusive work-life balance.

She has been covering one of the world's most dynamic economies for nearly a decade, working as a reporter and presenter at some of India's top channels, including India Today, Times Now, NDTV Profit and Bloomberg UTV.
