Carrie MacNeil introduces the bands competing at Grade 1 in the World Pipe Band Championships - aka The Worlds. The show features internationally distinguished pipers and drummers from Scotland, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Canada and New Zealand.

This year saw a change in the Grade 1 competition format, with all bands that entered competing in the final. In total 15 pipe bands competed across the two-day event, with points across both days making up the final scores.

The programme features selected sounds and sights from the climactic second day. Inverary and District Pipe Band took the title this year, led by Pipe Major Stuart Liddell and Drum Sergeant Steven McWhirter, making this the band’s second victory at The Worlds. Field Marshal Montgomery, 78th Fraser Highlanders and Johnstone Pipe Band are among some of the bands featured. Show less
