Le Màiri Anna NicUalraig agus Dòmhnall Eòghainn MacFhionghain. Chaidh Seirm a chlàradh aig àm fèis Celtic Connections anns an Fhaoilleach, 2019. Tha co-shèinn bheartach agus faireachdainnean sèimh a’ comharrachadh an seòrsa seirm dhraoidheil a tha air a shnìomh le SIAN, triùir sheinneadairean Gàidhlig thàlantach a tha ro dheònach an dualchas ciùil a thaisbeanadh. Tha Eilidh NicCarmaig às an Eilean Sgitheanach, a bhana-Leòdhasach Ceitlin LR Nic a’ Ghobhainn agus Ellen NicDhòmhnaill aig a bheil ceangal ri Uibhist a Tuath, air cliù fa-leth a chosnadh airson an tàlantan ciùil, ach còmhla, tha na sgilean sin nas cumhachdaiche buileach. Tha Gráinne Brady à Contae a Chabhain a’ tighinn gu Seirm le set a tha stèidhichte air an album aice, ‘The Road Across the Hills’. Air a’ brosnachadh leis an leabhar ‘Children of the Dead End’, tha i air gach trac a cheangal ris an leabhar bhuadhach seo.

Presented by Mary Ann Kennedy and Dòmhnall Eòghainn MacKinnon, Seirm was recorded during Celtic Connections in January 2019. Lush harmonies and delicate emotion take flight in the bewitching sound woven by SIAN, the gifted trio of Gaelic singers who are champions of their musical heritage. Together, Skye’s Eilidh Cormack, Ceithlin LR Smith from Lewis and Ellen MacDonald with her North Uist lineage are somehow greater than the sum of their mighty musical parts. The Co Cavan musician and composer Gráinne Brady brings a set based on her concept album The Road Across The Hills to Seirm. Inspired by Patrick McGill’s gritty novel Children of the Dead End, Brady creates a stunning soundtrack around this influential book.
