Three property experts are on the hunt for Scotland’s Home of the Year. They are architect and university teacher Michael Angus, renowned Glasgow-based interior designer Anna Campbell-Jones and globally recognised lifestyle blogger Kate Spiers.
This time, they are in the west of Scotland considering three homes. They visit a renovated Edwardian family home in the suburb of Giffnock in Glasgow, with elegance built into every room. High above the Sound of Mull in Argyll, they find a stunning self-build with symmetry at its heart - and everything from a playfully placed mouse in the hall, to aeroplane wings in the living room. Then, overlooking Glasgow Green, there’s a first floor flat that’s a moveable feast, with sliding walls, hidden rooms and, as one judge discovers, a generous bath. The judges will score each of them out of ten for functionality, distinctiveness and clever design to decide which one makes it to the final.
