YolanDa Brown kicks off the show with a song all about pitch called “Bass Face”. As the bass plays low, the Band Jammer must make their silliest face. YolanDa then welcomes Oren Marshall and his berimbau to the show, along with two capoeira players. He explains what the berimbau is and how the sound is connected to the martial art of capoeira from South America. In the Fact Jam, we find out more about the berimbau, including how it’s made from a hollowed-out fruit called the calabash, and about how the innards can then be used to make a healthy drink and ointments. A short film features some music and art-loving children as they draw what a piece of music makes them think of. Finally, Oren joins the band for the Band Jam, and together they perform an upbeat song that gets the whole audience swaying to the sounds of the berimbau. Show less
