YolanDa warms up the audience with the “Funky Elephant Walk” and welcomes percussion experts O Duo. Percussion is the biggest genre of instruments and with the help of some Band Jammers, they show-off a tiny selection of their own percussion instruments. The audience also help out by showing some homemade percussion instruments. In the Fact Jam, we find out some of the interesting things that have been used for percussion, including cheese, marbles, even stalactites. Plus a modern shaker that can actually make electricity just by shaking it. A short film features a young boy trying to find the perfect instrument to learn. A music teacher and flute-player called Jenny takes him through a selection of instruments from percussion to woodwind, all the way to a full orchestra. Eventually the boy picks a kazoo, showing there’s a perfect instrument out there for everybody. Finally in the Band Jam, O Duo are back and the Band Jammers shake along to the sounds of the bongos in a funky cover version of “Apache” by the Shadows. Show less
