YolanDa warms up the audience with the “Funky Elephant Walk”. Next, she welcomes the UK’s oldest steel pan group, Ebony Steel Band. YolanDa then gets the audience involved as she challenges the Band Jammers to a game called “Steel Pan Pizza”. In the Fact Jam, we find out more about the steel pan - how the dents are hammered into old oil drums and what other objects can be used to make steel pans, such as frying pans and biscuit tins. Ebony then show off the real thing as they play a steel pan cover version of “Sorry” by Justin Bieber. As the band then go off to prepare for the Band Jam, a short film features a young boy as he introduces us to his new hobby of synchronised swimming. Finally, we’re ready for the Band Jam. Ebony and the band do a special bouncy steel pan version of “Gotta Get Through This” by Daniel Bedingfield – with the lyrics changed to “Gotta Bounce Through This”. Show less
