YolanDa kicks off the show with a song all about pitch called “Bass Face” and then welcomes trombone quintet Soul Tubes to the jam. They tell us all about the trombone and how the special slide can be used to make sounds called a glissando. In the Fact Jam, we find out how long a trombone would be if you straightened one out, and also the word ‘trombone’ actually means ‘paperclip’ in French. The Soul Tubes then perform a special Trombone version of “Happy” by Pharrell Williams. As everybody then gets ready for the Band Jam, a short film follows a young girl and her opera-singing dad as they go behind the scenes at ‘Matilda The Musical’. Finally, the Band Jammers have fun sliding around to the sounds of the trombones. Show less
