Short Stories for Grown Ups

Series 1

Sharenting

Duration: 17 minutes

First broadcast: on BBC Radio FoyleLatest broadcast: on BBC Radio Ulster

Stephen is hooked on posting online about his life and the lives of his children. Not only is he a “sharent”, but he is a competitive sharent, locked in a running battle with his apparently perfect twin brother Gary.

When his wife is at work, Stephen is left in sole charge of his three young daughters who, lovable as they are, test his patience and his sanity. So he does what any modern, insecure, oversharing parent would - engineer the picture-perfect online life in to win the internet, or at least beat his “perfect” twin brother Gary.
Parenting can be problematic, but ”sharenting” and social media posts can be permanent!

Starring Michael Patrick as Stephen, and Diona Doherty as Suzie.

Written by Stephen G Large and developed with BBC Writersroom.
