The Sound of Julie

on BBC Radio 4 FM

Julie Andrews's phenomenal rise to success began when she was a very little girl singing with her mother and stepfather. She won the hearts of millions of radio listeners with her appearances in "Monday Night at Eight" and "Educating Archie" and, at the age of 18, Julie went to Broadway to star as Polly Brown in "The Boyfriend". The successes that followed bear testimony to a truly great talent.
Pete Murray looks at the career of Julie Andrews with a special tribute from Stanley Holloway.
