Tyrone Guthrie - director of plays - director of opera - creator of the radio play - writer of stage plays - pioneer of the open stage and of the present wave of new theatres - lecturer - adjudicator - Chancellor of Queen's University, Belfast - Knight Bachelor - director of an Irish jam factory - and a very big sort of man.
Born 1900 at Belmont Church Road, Tunbridge Wells, Kent. Died 1971 at Annagh-ma-Kerrig, County Monaghan.
