THE COUNTRY OF THE BLIND

on BBC Home Service Basic

Written and narrated by STEPHEN GRENFELL with Derek Birch
John Wilson was blinded in an accident when he was nearly twelve. Nearly twenty years later he helped to form an organisation, now the Royal Commonwealth Society for the Blind, to aid hundreds of thousands of blind people in Britain's dependent territories. This is the story of a man who has brought hope and a new life to blind men, women, and children in every corner of the British Commonwealth.
