Walter Leigh studied under Hindemith at the Hochschule fur Musik, Berlin. He is a versatile composer, having written orchestral and chamber music that has been performed at various European festivals. For some time he was associated with the Festival Theatre, Cambridge, for whose productions he wrote a considerable amount of incidental music. Of later years he has written two comic operas, The Pride of the Regiment and folly Roger, some revue numbers, and the music to the G.P.O. film. The Song of Ceylon.
