The first of four live transmissions following the progress of the Capital's foremost sporting spectacular. At Blackheath the record entry of 18,000 runners preparing for the gruelling prospect ahead, includes actors, footballers, MPs, pop stars, and even ' guests of Her Majesty' with the approval of the Home Office. They range from first-time joggers and experienced club athletes to the top marathon runners in Britain and the star foreign names led by GRETE WAITZ of Norway and EMIEL PUTTERMANS of Belgium.
