Two pairs of young newly-weds heading West in America to make their fortunes are involved in a car accident. The other car is driven by the son of the local oil magnate, who tries to bribe Lew, the driver of the newly-weds' car, to sign a statement exonerating his son. But Lew refuses, and things look really grim for him.
