The Laurence Olivier Awards 1984

Introduced by Angela Rippon and Frank Bough from the stage of the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane. London's West End theatres have seen over 100 productions this year, all of which qualify for consideration by the panel of judges.

Among the individual nominations are Ian Charleson, Glenda Jackson, Maureen Lipman, Ian McKellen, Vanessa Redgrave, Leonard Rossiter, Julie Walters, Michael Williams. Among excerpts from shows to be included are 42nd Street, The Hired Man, Pump Boys and Dinettes and Starlight Express.
