Requiem for a Railway: 1: Of Coppersmiths and Kings

on BBC One London

Swindon was a railway town. The historic locomotives of Brunel's Great Western symbolised the best of British engineering. But times have changed, and these famous workshops closed in 1986. Before the closure Peter Brown visited Swindon. In this, the first of two films, he finds the spirit of the old GWR still very much alive.
