Driven to Argentina by the crisis of the 1930s in Spain, Falla died leaving his huge cantata "Atlántida", on which he had worked for 20 years, incomplete. Donald Macleod looks at Falla's last works, written as memories of the Spanish Civil War and the prospect of world war weighed heavily upon him.
