In the first of a series of programmes marking the 40th anniversary of the Cuban Missile Crisis, writer and broadcaster Anthony Howard draws on secret tapes made by President Kennedy to tell the inside story of what went on in the White House duringthe time when the world came the closest it's ever been to nuclear war.
