The gramophone record and the overseas listener

In the BBC's External Services the gramophone record plays an important part. It provides a link with home and keeps a world-wide audience in touch with music and entertainment. You hear about their request programmes, the different kinds of requests, the unexpected places they come from - Tobago, Alaska, Hongkong, Chile - and excerpts from many other record programmes broadcast throughout the world.
