Second World War drama starring
Charlton Heston , Maximilian Schell Belgium, 1944: a US symphony orchestra, on tour entertaining forces, is captured by a German division under orders to shoot all prisoners. General Schiller, an avid music lover, offers to spare the orchestra if its conductor Lionel Evans will agree to conduct a concert forhim. Evans, however, refuses.
