A Higher Place

on BBC Radio 4 FM

In the final part of his exploration of the world's sacred mountains, Michael Symmons Roberts takes to the slopes of Mont Blanc, the highest peak in Europe. Here, 200 years ago, our definition of the sacred was transformed as writers and artists began to discover and express the beauty of mountains. Symmons Roberto's journey also takes him to Glastonbury Tor - a site which attracts people for reasons they themselves don't always understand.
