Mrs. Dale, the doctor's wife, records the daily happenings in the life of her family

Last week, while Mrs. Dale was at Gwen's flat, Jenny and Peter arrived. David advised them against a hurried wedding and they agreed to take his advice. The next day, Gwen celebrated her birthday and wedding anniversaries. Jenny won an award at the drama school and, as Peter was out of town, she telephoned to Bob to tell him about it. Bob suggested they should celebrate, but the Dales disapproved. When Jenny eventually told Peter about the award he seemed completely uninterested and turned the conversation to his own plans to buy a small-holding. Jenny was very upset. realising she could not combine her acting career with Peter's farming interests. She rang up Bob and asked him to try to talk Peter out of the project, but Peter politely told him to mind his own business.
