Saturday afternoon at the London
Gliding Club
Flights by novices and experts, with a descriptive commentary
Broadcast from Dunstable Downs
The activities of the London Gliding Club take place on Dunstable Downs, near Whipsnade. Here there is a large hill semi-circular in shape, that might have been made for the purpose. Gliders are launched by hand from this hill, or from the flat by motor-winch, according to the wind.
This afternoon for the first time it is hoped to give a running commentary on some typical launches and flights, in which both novices and experts will be taking part. An expert will describe the gliding, and T. Woodrooffe will describe the scene;
