The Story of the Ant
C. C. GADDUM
In talking of the common ant Mr. Gaddum will describe the life that goes on in the ant city, where thousands of ants dwell together, each one fulfilling its own particular job. He had one of these ant cities under close observation for several years. He will also talk about the species of ant which keeps green-fly in much the same sort of way as we keep cows, except that we keep cows for their milk, and ants keep green-fly for a sticky substance which the latter exude.
