with You Don't Have to Be Jewish
For the past eight years BBC Radio London listeners have been tuning in to 206 at 10.30 on Sunday mornings for a programme called You Don't Have to Be Jewish. When the programme was started the title seemed somewhat tongue in cheek. But it has proved to be wholly appropriate - because you don't have to be Jewish to listen, or even take part in a half-hour news, comment and music programme with a distinctly Jewish angle. Today the programme marks its 400th edition with a review of the past eight years.
