Written by BOB KESTEN
In June 1918 two young men flew off from St. John's, Newfoundland, in a two-engined Vickers Vimy bomber, which had a cruising speed of ninety miles per hour, in an attempt to fly the North Atlantic ocean for the first time. Their names were Arthur Whitten Brown and Jack Alcock.
