At the time of his death William Plomer 's reputation both as poet and reader of his own work stood very high, particularly among poets of a generation much younger than himself.
Tonight six poets - SIR JOHN BETJEMAN , ALAN BROWNJOHN , BOB COBBING , JENI' COUZYN, LAURENCE LERNER and ROGER MCGOUGH introduce and read one of their favourite Plomer poems. The programme also includes William Plomer 's own reading of some of his work.
