Country and western singers JD and the Salt Flat 'Kid', decide to leave their hometown and make the 2,000 mile trip to Nashville and the 'big time'. On the road, the aspiring stars find plenty of adventures, but once in the 'country capital' have difficulty in securing any engagements. But with the help of an old friend, JD devises an ingenious plan to star on the Grand Ole Opry telecast....
